I Strongly Dislike Crazy Hair Day...

This is what my children looked like as they walked out the door for school this morning.

I know it's nothing impressive, but it was no small feat.

Mostly because of this girl:

Olivia plans and schemes for weeks about Crazy Hair Day.  She has all kinds of ideas about what it's going to look like.  Somehow I am supposed to know this and bring it to life and if I can't then crying and screaming will ensue.

And it did.

There was a solid 10-15 minutes of bawling and shouting from Olivia because, well, I don't even know why because every time I would touch her hair to try something she was already upset.  When I finally told her that I wouldn't listen to it anymore and that unless she calmed down she could do her own hair she shouted inane things like, "You just love Owen and Morgan more than me. You don't even love me you only love them!!!!"

Hmmmmmm, okay.

Stupid Crazy Hair Day.

I'm happy to report that calmness was finally achieved and the above hairstyle was deemed acceptable.

Ugh.

Owen, on the other hand, was pleased as punch that we were able to do three of the tiniest pony tails I have ever done in my life.  Easy-smeesy and no crying or complaining.

Thank you Owen.

Likewise, Morgan was real easy to please.

She took out her buns from yesterday and her hair essentially looked like this in the morning.  She has bed-head unlike any other I have seen.  So we teased it up some more and hairsprayed the crud out of it.

Is there a 1980's hair band somewhere missing their lead singer?
I never realized how tiny her face is until it was lost amongst this massive poof of hair.

Anyway, I'm glad it's over.

...At least until next year.

ugh.

Not knowing how Olivia wanted her hair TOTALLY proves you love Morgan and Owen better! How could you!

i am honestly glad Franklin doesn't do it, although maybe it's not allowing them to be creative? Rough morning here to with someone who may or may not be PMS-ing. It is scaring me.

I never thought it could look like Morgan had THAT much hair....sheesh! And it's sorta hard to imagine Miss prim, proper Olivia ever throwing such tantrums, or yelling such ridiculous things at you. But alas, I s'pose it goes to show...all kids are freakshows. And, crazy hair day sucks. Though, I should like to send you over to Darlene Bonds blog, she LURVES crazy hair day and she's the one scheming on what she's gonna do to their hair. She's got some beauts on there. Just sayin. And finally, I FEAR for the day that this activity comes to my house. I am a hair failure!
Lastly I would like to say, I STRONGLY like that you're blogging more often. Keep it up kimosabe!

Allyson is correct. I live for this day...even if it drives my Girlies crazy.

I'm with you! Only I would say, I HATED ALL things "spirit week!" Especially as a teacher! A whole week of not much learning taking place, worsened behavior and frustrated teachers and kids! Maybe I was the only teacher that felt that way (though I STRONGLY doubt it), but I feel for you! That ISN'T what school should be about!

Oh, I hate to break it to you, but they do this crazy hair thing once a semester, I believe. :)

I can't believe you, of all people, hate it. I mean it's marketed to get them excited and everything. They're just following your bloggerly advice. Someone should pray to gain a testimony of it, I guess. :)
